Heritage Road Trip – Day 4, Part 1

Where day 3 was long and arduous, Day 4 was filled with interesting stops. So many, that it seemed best to break out all the pictures onto multiple posts since even cut in half, they're killing the load time of this page. I stared off in Murdo, South Dakota with hot coffee and a toasted BMT Subway sub to fight the morning chill.

Along the way I stopped at an overlook surrounded by open plains. This part of the country reminded me that the scope of my worlds isn't always big enough to compare to the scope of our own - a mistake I hope to correct with this second video as a reminder.

Onward, the road treated me to about 50 miles of humorous billboards for a place called Wall Drug. They reminded me of the signed you get approaching Pedro's South of the Border between North and South Carolina. They did their job, because I stopped to investigate - and spend money I didn't need to spend. Then again, what's a road trip without indulging a few whims?

Wall Drug proved a treasure trove of old memorabilia. I took a bunch of pictures of wild west tacky wonderfulness before continuing down the road. Here are the photos.
